The Klein German Spitz belongs to the Utility group. This dog has always been used as a companion. They are usually classed as a toy or utility breed. The Klein German Spitz has a compact of body, with dense stand off coat, tail curled over the back and a fox appearance to the head. In appearance they are quite similar to a small Chow. The Klein German Spitz is an attractive dog, with a sweet yet mischievous expression, and erect bat like ears. They have a thick, soft coat, which comes in a range of colors including black, brown, orange, grey, or white.

 Height 'n Weight:

Ideally the German Spitz Klein should measure between 16 - 17 inches and weigh between 38.5 - 40 pounds

 Temperament: 

Any type of German Spitz makes a good watchdog. They are always Happy, alert, watchful and buoyant. Appearing to always smile and laugh with you- or at you! They are very happy to please, but on the other hand they know what they want and know how to get it. They do not get along very well with other dogs, and can be a little over-protective and loud around other animals. This type of dog is not recommended for homes with young children, as it tends to be nervous and snappish at times.

 Exercise needs:

These breeds need 40 - 60 minutes daily exercise. They do enjoy a walk, a good play and run around, not a breed which demands a lot of exercise.

 Trainability:

These breeds have a low trainability, so training for Klein German Spitz can be challenging.As these breeds are stubborn at times, you need to be firm and patient when training them.

 Nutrition & Diet:

The Klein German Spitz do not seem to suffer from any digestive problems so will eat any type of dog food. It is best not to feed too high a protein food though as the dog can become hyperactive.

 Living conditions:

The Klein German Spitzs are good for apartment life. They are family active indoors and a small yard will suite them.

 Life expectancy:  

A good healthy Klein German Spitz can live long as 13- 14 years.

 Origin:

These breeds originated from Germany. The German Spitz is descended from the Nordic Samoyed and Lapphund which were most likely brought over to Germany with the Vikings. .
