Chihuahua

The Chihuahua is a tiny dog with an apple-shaped head and a short pointed muzzle. It has round, large, very dark eyes, sometimes dark ruby or luminous in color. The trademark large ears should be held erect. The dog is more robust than he looks, with a level back, and legs coming down straight and square.

 Height 'n Weight

Height: 6-9 inches (15-23 cm.)

Weight: 2-12 pounds (1-6 kg.) (Breed standard: not to exceed 6 lb.s)

 Temperament

Chihuahuas are prized for their devotion, ferocity, and personality. Their curious nature and small size make them easily adaptable to a variety of environments, including the city and small apartments. Chihuahuas are often stereotyped as high-strung, though it has been shown that correct training and socialization can result in an outstanding companion animal.

 Exercise needs.

They need small amount of exercise .As the size is small, they are active. Daily playing full feel all needs for the exercise.

 Trainability

It is important to keep in mind throughout Chihuahua training that your pup is very intelligent.  Chihuahua's learn fast and are quite easy to train.  If you are having difficulties it could be your approach that is the problem, not the dog.  In fact, the right approach can make Chihuahua training of any kind easy. Your training should be on a regular schedule.

 Nutrition & Diet

Due to lack of proper nutrition, Chihuahuas can suffer from vomiting, belching, loose stools, gassiness and stomachache after meals. In order to give your Chihuahua a long, happy, healthy life, you need to be conscious about what you are feeding him

 Food that should be avoided :

  1. Chocolate, Tea, Coffee
    2. Alcoholic Beverages
    3. Grapes and Raisins
    4. Bones from fish, poultry or other meats
    5. Raw eggs

 Dry food usually helps to keep the dog’s teeth clean and moreover, helps him to work his jaws. This kind of dog food is easily digestible.

 Living conditions

The Chihuahua hates the cold and may shiver. It will tolerate and even appreciate a warm sweater on cooler days. They are good little dogs for apartment life.

About 15 or more years.

This is the oldest breed on the American continent and the smallest breed in the world. Native to Mexico, nonetheless it seems to have been introduced by the Chinese
