Cesky Terrier

The Cesky Terrier is also called as the Bohemian Terrier. It has a looks similar to a Sealyham Terrier. The Cesky Terrier has a long head, bushy beard, mustache and eyebrows. The body is solid, but not heavy. The wavy, silky coat usually comes into the shades of gray-blue with tan, gray, white or yellow furnishings or light coffee, though puppies are born black. The coats lighten later, sometimes not until the dog is two years old. The light coffee color is quite rare. The eyes are brown in gray-blue dogs and yellow in brown dogs. The noses and lips of blue-gray dogs are black; for brown dogs it is liver. The ears are triangular. The head is long, but not too wide, with a well-defined stop. The tail is 18-20 cm. long. When the dog is excited, they carried tail horizontally.

Height:  10-13 inches (25-32 cm.)

Weight: 13-23 pounds (6-10 kg.)

 Temperament:

The Cesky Terrier is a sweet and happy dog that is good with children. They tend to be less dog-aggressive than some other terrier breeds. These breeds are very loyal, obedient and courageous dogs. They love people, especially children, and are fairly friendly with strangers, but like most terriers, are feisty, stubborn, and fearless. It is an excellent companion dog that is capable of playing with children

 Exercise needs:

The Cesky Terrier is energetic and enjoys running and playing through a wooded area or open countryside. They also enjoy a long walk on the lead.

 Trainability: 

The Cesky Terriers are intelligent breeds so training is not as difficult as other Terrier's. They are brave and easy to handle.

 Nutrition & Diet:

The Cesky Terriers breed occasionally suffers from the Scotty Cramp which is a minor problem causing awkward movement, but that is not painful or life threatening. As other breeds a combination of dry food and a quality food will provide the necessary nutrient to your Cesky Terrier.

 Living conditions:

The Cesky Terrier is a good dog for apartment life. They are moderately active indoors.

 Life expectancy:

The Cesky Terrier lives about 12-15 years.

 Origin: 

The Cesky Terrier dogs are a relatively new breed. They came into being due to the efforts of Czech Breeder Frantisek Horak. They are descended from the mixture of Sealyham, Scottish, and other Terriers. The Dandie Dinmont is believed to be an ancestor as well.
